Audio Samples Technical Notes

You must have an MP3 player software installed on your computer system to hear these samples. Access to the sound samples can be as simple as left clicking on one of the loudspeaker icons: , , or , corresponding to the three available levels of audio quality. You may have to wait for the entire file to finish downloading before you hear any of it. Alternatively, right-click on the item and select “Save Target As...” to store the file at a designated location on your computer first of all. Some software allows the “streaming playback” of MP3 files, i.e. the playback would commence while the downloading continues; however, if your Internet connection is not fast enough for the selected quality level, this kind of playback may become discontinuous. Even then, once the download is complete, subsequent replay would not be subjected to the same interruptions.

The playing duration and file sizes are given in square brackets [ ] for each excerpt. The file-size text also provides an alternative hyperlink to the target audio file.

If you don’t already have an MP3-capable software installed, you may download one from RealPlayer at www.real.com or from MusicMatch at www.musicmatch.com.
