Our Hessenberg CD was selected as one of the five best recordings of 2001 on reviewer Paul Snook’s “Want List” in Fanfare Magazine (Nov/Dec 2001) and was awarded a “Star of the Month” by the German publication Fono Forum (Nov. 2001). Please see the Reviews page for press coverage on this recording in various publications around the world.

Cassandra Records is pleased to serve as importer for the U.S. market in presenting the world-premiere recording of some exquisite, newly rediscovered vocal repertoire by Wilhelm Petersen.

The German-language section of this web site is now online. Among the more recently added contents is also the complete Brief Autobiography of Kurt Hessenberg. This document tells the story of the coming into being of an utmost sincere composer and offers a glimpse into his artistic philosophies and temperaments.

Forthcoming is a new article of musical analysis of the Hessenberg Second Symphony by Maestro Leland Sun.

Our recording of the Hessenberg 2nd Symphony, as well as a selection of the Petersen Lieder, will be heard on WHPK-88.5 FM Chicago between 12 noon and 1:30 PM (U.S. Central Time) on Wednesday, Sep. 22.  The station can also be heard on the Internet, at www.whpk.org.
